• Visa Application form, duly completed and signed by the applicant personally. In case of child under 18, Application Form should be signed by both the Parents.
• One recent passport-sized picture in colour with white background. Photograph should not be older than six (06) months.
• Passport should be valid for atleast six months beyond the intended duration of stay in the Schengen territory.
• Return Air Ticket Reservation.
• Overseas Medical insurance valid for all Schengen-countries. The insurance has to cover all risk e.g. accident, illness, etc. (Minimum Coverage is 30,000 Euros)
• Financial Requirements: (1) Original Bank Account statements (Personal) for the last 06 months (internet bank account statement will not be accepted. only bank statements with the bank name, branch address, bank contact number, applicant’s name, address & account number should be there), (2) Original Income Tax Challan (Personal) for the last 03 years, (3) copy of Pan Card, (4) Salary Slips (if Salaried) for the last 06 months, (5) Foreign Exchange endorsement on the passport or receipt or Credit card copy along with statement or Traveler’s Cheque.
• Reservation of Hotel Booking for entire stay in Schengen area (GTA bookings will not be accepted)
• A Covering Letter from the applicant explaining the reason of the trip & duration of stay in Greece.
• If applicable: Students have to submit a letter from their university/school confirming their status/attendance indicating the holiday period or - during school year - a permission to be up sent from class including time frame.
• Previous passport or passports may also be requested.
• Original No-Objection Letter from the Employer specifying the Employment status & salary.
• If self-employed, evidence of your business. (Company Profile and Income Tax Returns for last years.)
• In case of Minor: No-Objection Letter from the Parents, Passport photocopy of Parents, if accompanied by one of the parent than a No-Objection from the other Parent.
• Interview, if required by The Embassy of Greece.
• Applicant would be asked for additional documents if required by The Embassy of Greece.
• If Married and trevelling with spouse, than Original Marriage Certificate is required. It should be duly attested by Ministry Of External Affairs, New Delhi with an Apostile sticker.

• Original letter from the Indian company specifying reason for stay in Greece, Employment status, Leave status & Salary.
• Overseas Medical insurance valid for all Schengen-countries. The insurance has to cover all risk e.g. accident, illness, etc. (Minimum Coverage is 30,000 Euros).
• Registration Certificate of the Indian company & Indian’s company Profile.
• Submission of correspondence on existing business co-operation (documents showing business relations such as letters, invoices, e-mails, bank transfers, etc).
• Proof of sufficient financial means: (1) Original Bank statement (Personal & company’s) for the last 06 months (internet bank account statement will not be accepted. Only bank statements with the bank name, branch address, bank contact number, applicant’s or companies name, address & account number should be there), (2) Original Income Tax Challan (Personal & Company’s) for the last three years, (3) Salary Slips (if salaried) for the last 06 months, (4) Foreign Exchange endorsement on the passport/receipt or Credit Card copy along with the statement or Traveler’s cheque.
• If Married and travelling with spouse, than original Marriage Certificate is required. It should be duly attested by Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi with an Apostile Sticker.
• Copy of Educational/Technical Certificates duly attested by Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi with an Apostile sticker.
• Applicants Travelling for Conference: (1) Formal Invitation to attend the conference or seminar; (2) Covering Letter explaining the purpose of the visit; (3) If going to present papers or documents than a hard copy of the paper or document.
• Copy of Pan Card of the applicant.
• Previous passport or passports may also be requested.
• Interview, if required by The Embassy of Greece.
• Applicant would be asked for additional documents if required by The Embassy of Greece.

Airport Transit Visa (A):

• A valid travel document (e.g. national passport) valid at least three months beyond the
• Intended stays in which a visa can be affixed on a blank page.
• A visa application form correctly completed, signed and accompanied by recent passport
• Photos bearing a true likeness to the applicant.
• A valid entry visa for the country of destination.
• A confirmed return or onward air line ticket.
• A valid visa or other document enabling you to return to your country of residence.
• Medical insurance with minimum coverage of € 30,000 per person.
• Consular fees to be paid in cash at the time of application (the visa fee, according to
• Schengen regulations, is non-refundable).
• Proof of sufficient financial means.
• Proof of current occupation.

Requirements for transit visa (applicable to crew joining ships at Greek ports)

• The Embassy will not issue a visa until formalities have been completed in Greece
• Passport with a validity of six months from the date of entry into Greece
• Previous passport or passports may also be requested.
• A letter of guarantee from shipping company and Employment Agreement/Contract.
• Greek company’s registration copy.
• Man Agent contract copy (agreement/contract between the Greek company and shipping agent)
• Ship IMO number copy
• A Protocol letter from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Greece.
• Confirmation E-mail from the shipping company mentioning the number & ranks of the seaman that they have asked for. The email should be sent to the Embassy (grcon.del@mfa.gr) with title: Confirmation from Shipping Company.
• A copy of CDC (Continuous Discharge Certificate).
• Air ticket
  Diploma/certificate (as applicable):
  1. Personal safety and social responsibility.
  2. Personal survival techniques.
  3. Elementary first aid.
  4. Fire prevention and fire fighting.
  5. On watch keeping.
• Interview, if required.

Transit Visa (B)

• Application form correctly filled in and signed together with two recent high quality passport size photographs.
• Travel document (e.g. national passport valid for at least three months beyond the intended duration of stay in the Schengen territory) in which a visa can be affixed on an empty page.
• Consular fees to be paid in cash at the time of application (the visa fee, according to
• Schengen regulations, is non-refundable).
• Proof of medical insurance valid for all Schengen countries for the entire duration of
• Stay with a minimum coverage of 30.000 € per person. The insurance has to cover all expenses which might arise in connection with repatriation for medical reasons, urgent medical attention and/or emergency hospital treatment. Foreign insurance policies have to be submitted with an English translation.
• A valid entry visa for the country of final destination.
• An onward or return journey ticket (a proof of reservation is needed e.g. reservation slip, but a ticket should not be bought until a visa is guaranteed or issued).
• Proof of sufficient financial means for the duration of stay (cash, cheque and credit cards accepted in the Schengen countries, a pledge of financial support, an employment contract, bank statements, proof of enrolment on the trade register and/or of professional activity).
• Proof of accommodation (hotel reservation or a letter of invitation) in case of overnight stay.

Requirements for Student Visa  

• Application form to be filled in completely and signed by the applicant. (Application Form of Child under 18 should be signed by both the Parents)
• One Recent passport-size photographs in colour with white background.
•  The Passport should be valid for atleast six months beyond the intended duration of stay in the Schengen territory.
• Copy of Schengen Visas.
• A Covering Letter from the applicant explaining the reason of the trip & duration of stay in Greece.
• Overseas Medical insurance valid for all Schengen-countries. The insurance has to cover all risk e.g. accident, illness, etc. (Minimum Coverage is 30,000 Euros). The insurance should be valid for minimum six (06) months.
• Original No-Objection Letter from the Institute.
• Original Acceptance Letter from the College /Institute/ University.
• Proof of Scholarship, if not than proof of sufficient funds to cover living expenses & cost of study.
• Receipt of payment of Enrollment fee to the Educational establishment.
• If going for PHD or Research, Contract with the University detailing the period of validity and the salary of the Researcher. The contract must be attested by a Greek Public Authority.
• Proof of sufficient Funds of the Sponsor:

1. Personal Bank statements for last six months. (Internet Bank Statement will not be accepted. Only Bank Statement with name of the bank, branch address, contact number, applicant’s name, address, account number would be accepted.)
2. Personal Income Tax Return for the last three years.
3. Salary Slips for the last six months.
4. Credit Card copy/Foreign Exchange endorsement/Traveler’s Cheque.

• Photocopies of Academic Certificates duly attested by Human Resource Development & Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi with an Apostile sticker.
• Police Clearance Certificate duly attested by Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi with an Apostile sticker.
• Medical Clearance Certificate duly attested by Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi with an Apostile sticker.

APPLICANTS OF OTHER NATIONALITIES should have the last three (03) documents attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of their respective country.

Requirements for family re-unification:

• Application form to be filled in completely and signed by the applicant. (Application Form of Child under 18 should be signed by both the Parents)
• One Recent passport-size photographs in colour with white background.Photograph should not be older than six (06) months.
• The Passport should be valid for atleast six months beyond the intended duration of stay in the Schengen territory.
• Prior Approval from the Greek Authorities.
• Marriage Certificate duly attested by Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi with an Apostile Sticker.
• Marriage Photographs.
• Marriage Card.
• Police Clearance Certificate duly attested by Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi with an Apostile Sticker.
• Medical Certificate duly attested by Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi with an Apostile Sticker.
• Ration Card (Original with English translation) duly attested by Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi with an Apostile Sticker.
• Matriculation Certificate or Middle School Board Certificate or School Leaving Certificate containing the Date of Birth.
• Divorce Judgment & Decree from former Spouse, if applicable.
• Passport photocopy (recent & cancelled) of all the pages of the Sponsor.
• Bank Statement of the Sponsor from Greece for the last three (03) months.
• Income Tax Returns of the Sponsor from Greece for the last three (03) years.
• Rent Agreement or Proof of Residence must be authorized by Greek Public Financial Service called DOY.
• Certificate from the Health Security of the Inviter mentioning that his family medical expenses will be covered.
• Family status certificate issued by The Embassy of India, Athens mentioning the name of the spouse and siblings. The certificate should not be older than six (06) months.
• In case of Minor,

APPLICANTS OF OTHER NATIONALITIES should have their documents attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of their respective country.

NOTE: Applicant would be asked for additional documents or may be called for an interview if desired by The Embassy of Greece.
Previous passport may also be requested.
The visa fee is non-refundable.
Original documents submitted must be accompanied along with a copy.

• Covering Letter from the applicant explaining the reason of the trip & intended duration of stay in Greece.
•  Formal Obligation Letter or Sponsorship Letter (authorized by Police Station)
• Family status certificate issued by The Embassy of India, Athens mentioning the details of the invitee. The certificate should not be older than six (06) months.
• Original No-Objection Letter from the Employer specifying the Employment status, Salary & Leave.
